BOOK REVIEW: How Children Raise Parents: The Art of Listening to Your Family by Dan B. Allendar, Ph.D.

All I can say is, "Wow." This audio book is not read like normal audio books. The author is reading of course, but he doesn't break it up into sections. He begins with track one and continues on a conscious thread for three more hours. This sounds vexing, but every single sentence is an absolute jewel. Allendar tells you what kids want and need and then tells you how to give them that in order to optimize their growth in all facets of their life. He contends that kids need the answers to two questions. The first is "Am I loved?" and the second is "Can I have what I want?" How these questions are answered makes all the difference in your child's world and in yours as the parent.

Basically, he tells you how to listen and learn from your kids so you can teach them. It's Zen meets the Horse Whisperer for parenting. Definitely worth purchasing.
