Meet Campbell Claire Sadler

Being very proud of my son, Mason, the Lord decided to bless me with a beautiful daughter on October 6. My faith has been emboldened. When we consider what could have gone wrong and then look at what went right, it's obvious that prayers were answered.

First, Malita had been having trouble with her blood pressure. She told the doctor her symptoms over the phone on Monday and they told her to come in. We'd done this three times already. Our doctor, after conferring with some colleagues, decided it best to induce Malita and have the baby. Thoughts of excitement and fear enveloped us both. Campbell was only 34 weeks and a day. There are typically brief health issues when a baby is born prior to 37 weeks. She might not be able to breathe well, she might not be able to regulate her body temperature. It was a scary time but being at one of the best hospitals in the nation was comforting. Also, God was with us.

The doctors began the induction process and on Tuesday at 4:39 in the afternoon,  four pounds, eleven ounces, 16.5 inches long, and six weeks early Campbell was born. The nurses and doctors were amazed at how well she did. Before she was born, they told us she could potentially be in the N.I.C.U. for several weeks. Well, she went straight from the check-in area to the regular nursery. Her oxygen levels were nice and to keep her body temperature up, we wrapped her tight and held her close. This wasn't hard to do.

Campbell's birth is a prime example of how prayer works. Facebook had a hand in this too as I was able to post up to date information about their conditions which in turn prompted people to pray. God answered all those prayers.

A second, science related, affirmation of God's power is this. As I stated before, Malita had trouble with high blood pressure. The doctor said it was better to have a baby at 34 weeks with a healthy mama than a baby at 37 weeks with a mama who has had a stroke. The doctor told us later that when the mother has blood pressure issues this causes the baby's lungs to develop quicker. Well, they obviously did. Science and God don't disagree on all points.

Thanks to all of you for the prayers, gifts, food, and visits.
